Gentian (scientific name: Gentiana scabra Bunge) is a perennial herb of the Gentianaceae family and the genus Gentian, which can reach a height of 60 cm. The rhizome is lying flat or upright, with many thick, slightly fleshy fibrous roots.
The roots and rhizomes of gentian are used as medicine. Its taste is bitter and cold in nature. Return to the liver and gall bladder meridian.
