Mechanism
nmn nicotinamide mononucleotide powder can be converted into nicotinamide riboside (NR) under the catalysis of the extracellular receptor CD73 on the cell membrane. Then it enters the cell through the balanced nucleoside transport carrier on the cell membrane and is re-phosphorylated in the cell to generate NMN. Or catalyzed by the receptor CD38, it is degraded to generate nicotinamide (NAM) and enters the cell. Related studies have shown that CD73 plays an important role in the regulation of NAD+ content and biological functions of endothelial cells by NMN.
Biotransformation

NR generates NMN. NMN can be further adenylated by nicotinamide mononucleotide adenylyl transferase (nicotinamide mononucleotide adenylyl transferase, NMNAT) and transformed into NAD+.
