How are isoflavones distributed in nature?
The distribution of fermented soy isoflavones in nature is limited to a very small number of plants such as the Leguminosae subfamily, such as soybean, Mexican white bean, alfalfa and mung bean. Among them, only alfalfa and soybean have the highest isoflavone content. Generally, the content of isoflavones in alfalfa is 0.5%-3.5%, and the content of isoflavones in soybean is 0.1%-0.5%.
Soy Isoflavones Extract is a kind of secondary metabolite formed during soybean growth, which is a kind of bioflavonoids and a phytoestrogen. It is mainly distributed in the cotyledons and hypocotyls of soybean seeds, with very little content in the seed coat. 80%-90% of isoflavones are present in cotyledons at concentrations of 0.1%-0.3%. The isoflavones contained in the hypocotyl are many kinds and the concentration is high, ranging from 1% to 2%, but because the embryo only accounts for 2% of the total weight of the seed, although the concentration is high, the proportion is very small.
