Kava Powder Introduction
Kava powder or powder made from kava extract (Piper methysticum: A Pacific Island crop (from Latin "pepper" and Latinized Greek "intoxicating") The Tongan and Marquesan names for kava, which means "bitter," different names for kava powder incorporate ʻawa (Hawaiʻi), ʻava (Samoa),yaqona or yagona (Fiji) sakau (Pohnpei), seka (Kosrae), and malok or malogu (portions of Vanuatu). The nonprofit organization Cochrane in the UK conducted a systematic review and came to the conclusion that it probably worked better than placebo to treat short-term anxiety.
