What is Acid Asiatic?

Acid Asiatic, also known as asiatic acid, is a triterpenoid acid extracted from Centella asiatica (L.) Urban, a Umbelliferae plant, belonging to the ursane type of pentacyclic triterpenoids. Centella asiatica has about 20 species of plants in the world, mainly produced in Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Africa, and Australia, and distributed in tropical and subtropical regions.

Studies have found that asiatic acid has the effect of blocking or reversing liver fibrosis in vivo and in vitro, and has a liver-protecting effect.
